12/18-12/20

Monday is a full day and Tuesday and Wednesday are half-days. We still have much to learn so please send in your child every day if possible. On Wednesday we will be cleaning out our desks and binders so please send your child in with a big sturdy bag to hold their materials over the break. I appreciate all of your support his year and wish your family a Happy Holidays. Language Arts : This week in Language arts we will be studying bravery through Peter in Narnia. We will also recite our poem: Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening. Math: We will do a two day study of data and graphing. Science : This week in Science we will be working on using the scientific method. It will include an exciting experiment involving candy canes! History: This week in history we will review the decline of the Roman empire and the split of the east and west. Tuesday we will test our knowledge!

12/11-12/15

Language Arts : This week in Language arts we will be working on publishing our Short Story in the Realistic Fiction genre. We will finish Narnia before winter break. And we should be working on memorizing our poem nightly: Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening. Math: We will continue to learn about money this week. There will be a short quiz Wednesday after math groups. on Monday and a unit test on Thursday. Science : This week in Science we will be finishing up our unit on the nervous system by discussing reflexes and how to take care of this important body system.  Students will come home with a study guide on Wednesday for a quiz on Friday! History: This week in history we will learn about the relationship between the Romans and the Christians. We will also look at the decline of the Roman Empire and how they split the empire into the East Empire and West Empire. We will fill out our study guides in class on Friday to prepare us for our test next week!
Don't forget that our field trip to the AZ Science Center is this Friday! Please pack a labeled brown paper bag lunch and a disposable water bottle for your child. I do not encourage sending money with your child, but if you do please keep it to $15 or less. History: This week in history we will learn about Mount Vesuvius and the city of Pompeii! It will help us get some background information before we head to our fiel
